Basic Team Skills

This program will give team members an understanding of team development and basic team skills necessary for success. We will introduce team members to the stages of team development and why defining roles, responsibilities and expectations are critical to high performance.

Conflict Management

In this course, participants will learn the skills proven to work with conflict in a constructive way. Participants will identify their own style for dealing with conflict, identify other team member's conflict styles and choose an appropriate conflict style based on the situation. The importance of trust building behaviors and creating comfort with conflict in their teams will also be discussed.

Consensus Building

Designed to give participants an understanding of the importance of consensus in the team environment, key learning points include understanding and agreeing on how consensus decisions will be made in the team.

Creative Problem Solving

Creative problem solving gives you the competitive advantage that makes you a winner in the marketplace. Participants will learn a process that will enable them to redefine problems so they can be solved more effectively, generate more ideas than thought possible, and build and implement ideas to create worthwhile change or improvement.

DiSC Interpersonal Effectiveness

This session helps team members understand each person’s communication style and develop listening strategies and behaviors that will enhance their ability to work together to achieve their ideal team and business goals and develop a plan for improving written and verbal communication skills. Participants will have the benefit of increasing self-awareness through their own personalized DiSC Profile. This behavioral learning instrument is a vital tool for interpersonal communications, teamwork, and personal effectiveness.

High Performance Team Skills

This program is an overview to high performance teams. It covers the characteristics of effective teams, team roles, effective meeting techniques, problem solving, team roles, and introduces quality tools. Participants leave with a basic understanding of teams and their development.

Orientation to Change and the Team Development Plan

This program orients the team to organizational change, the organizations overall plan and the role of their team in that plan. The session also clarifies the teams’ expectations about what is to come.

Role of Trust in Leadership

Leaders are realizing that there is a clear business imperative for establishing high levels of trust in organizations. Using some concepts from Steven MR Covey’s book The Speed of Trust, participants will learn the cost benefits of high trust related to speed, improved morale and employee engagement. They will also leave with clearly identified actions and behaviors to stop and start immediately.

Team Decision Making

This session addresses the various influences on decision-making and discusses different approaches and methods for making decisions based on the issues and people involved. Participating team members will review types of decision-making discussed in team basics and discuss options they will want to use.

Team Interviewing

In this course participants will learn behavioral interviewing techniques, questioning techniques, and practice writing questions that can facilitate the collection of accurate and complete information. This program can be customized for leaders or teams.

Team Leadership

Participants will learn what it takes to be an effective team leader. They will be able to recognize what stage their team is in and how to resolve team conflicts. They will also learn the skills needed to keep team meetings on track and why assigning roles and responsibilities are critical.

Team Problem Solving

Participants will utilize the six-step model of problem solving they learned in basic team training, using quality tools in the process. This program will be delivered as action learning, using existing problems in the organization. It is intended to bring the participants through the first four steps of the process and then take the proposed solutions back for implementation and evaluation.

Team Profile

In this program the team will evaluate its strengths and weaknesses at the current time and to plan future improvement efforts. The team will be provided with a tools and a process for continuous team evaluation

Workplace Big Five Profile

This assessment is valuable in understanding your own personality and preferences as well as those in your team. The participants will gain a greater understanding of their behaviors and other team members. We will also explore how to use this understanding to more effectively work as a team.
